Vardan Awasthi is an EIT certified Structural Staff Engineer at Jax Apex Technology with 2.94 years of relevant experience. He holds an MS degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech with a specialization in Structural Engineering. In his current role, Vardan is responsible for performing lateral design, designing spot footing, conducting research, and assisting the Production department in divisional quality checks for single-family housing for clients like DR Horton, Minto, and Richmond American Jax. He has also worked on a variety of projects during his Undergraduate degree at VIT Chennai and his Graduate degree at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg. Vardan has a proper understanding of the fundamentals of structural engineering and is familiar with architecture. He has experience working with structural design and analyses software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, REVIT, AUTOCAD3D, and ETABS. Additionally, he has experience in working with programming languages such as PYTHON and OpenSees and has a good understanding of codes such as ASCE 7, AISC, ACI-318. Prior to joining Jax Apex Technology, Vardan worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech and also served as the Cultural Head of the Indian Student Association, where he managed the Indian community at Virginia Tech and organized cultural events. Vardan is a quick learner and has a passion for research. He is currently working on revising masonry wall design using RAM Elements. He is eligible for PE certification and is always looking for opportunities to learn and grow in his field.
